726 - Need Bigger, Bolder, top fold links to curseforge project + ticket tracker
What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?
There is a near-invisible link to the ticket tracker on the middle of the webpages of the curse.com projects. Most users ignore it entirely and prefer the method of "hit comment, fling poop, hope it sticks" for feature requests and bug reports. These comments are of lower quality and more difficult to manage than true bug reports. While you can never make everyone work with the system... right now it's the hardy user who is able to find the ticket tracker.
There is also no evident link to the main CurseForge project page anywhere on a curse.com page. (For that matter, vice-versa...I don't see an easy way to switch to my curse.com project page from within the curseforge.com site.) Maybe I'm missing something here, but the bug tracker definitely needs a better link, and one that makes it clear that it's mega good for suggestions and bug experiences.
Please provide any additional information below.
Put a link to the Ticket Tracker on every curse.com project page that is:
1. TOP FOLD-- should be right up there in the part that gives you the download link, I should not have to scroll to find it.
2. CLEAR IN FUNCTION-- should say something like "please use the Ticket Tracker for all feature requests and bug reports." The feature request AND bug report function of the ticket tracker is important to emphasize. Some people might overlook that they can use it as a handy dandy suggestion box.
3. BIG, BOLD, OBVIOUS-- should not be competing for attention with anything but the most prominent elements of the page. So it should be as big or bigger than the download link and placed in a location the eye is likely to scan.
There should also be a link to the general CurseForge project page near the prominent ticket tracker link in case you want to go directly there from the curse.com website.

Mavoc Sun, 26 Jun 2011 18:00:21the curseforge side has the ability to set up a crude forum for your addon. It would also be great if a link to the forums was added to the curse.com page as well along with a bit of an update to those forums.

Phanx Sat, 15 May 2010 08:04:19For a while there was a link to the addon's CurseForge/WowAce ticket tracker just above the comments section. It was easily overlooked, but at least it was there. And then, for reasons unknown, it was removed.
Now, there is a "Development Site" link at the top of each addon's Curse.com page. The overwhelming majority of users (a) won't see it, because it's tiny and is mixed in with other details that nobody cares about, and (b) won't associate the term "development site" with "the place to report bugs and request features" even if they do see it.
Adding my vote for more prominent "Report Bugs" and "Request Features" links. You don't even need to come up with anything new or creative if you don't want to; copying WoWInterface's layout (with the "Report Bugs" and "Request Features" buttons directly underneath the "Download" button) would be just fine and probably ideal anyway.

BotanicalPuppet Wed, 08 Oct 2008 05:35:55Someone pointed me to the curse project page on curseforge.com ... it has no ticket tracker, so I did the obvious and made a comment there linking here. (If you know the current emails of any of the curse.com people, maybe put in a gentle nudge.)
