367 - Set a file as default
I'd really like for the ability to mark an existing (older) file as the default download on Curse.com. The old upload system had this, but as far as I can tell it's no longer possible. This way, for example, I can upload add-ons and plugins without changing the default download for my project to be something that most people aren't actually going to want or need.

Hawksy Sat, 28 Mar 2009 20:25:06Agreed.
After many hours (first frustration) my files were finally uploaded, but then the wrong one was marked as the default download. Second frustration. So I tried to find somewhere to change the default download, like the old Curse used to have. No luck. Third frustration. If the function is there it is extremely well hidden. My users who hit the download button will have been getting the wrong file. I'm sure most of them are frustrated, so on their behalf mark that the fourth frustration.
Not being able to change the default download file has been extremely frustrating to me.
I tried to get around it by deleting the file and reloading it, but the software then blocks the reload saying that I can't upload a file twice. Even though I have deleted the previous copy. Fifth frustration. I tried changing the file name. No luck, I presume it must work off a digest number. Sixth frustration.
So I had to make a non-essential change in my source files (an extra blank line), re-zip it, and upload again. Seventh frustration.
This time it uploaded.
Will it become the default file? How long will it take? Will there be more frustrations?
Colour me extremely frustrated.

EWOlson Sat, 19 Jul 2008 14:10:16Tuhljin, is the status still saying, "Needs Approval"? If so, people can't download that file.
Speed up the approval process, Curse!

Tuhljin Wed, 16 Jul 2008 06:32:58Not only that, but I'm unable to set the *newly* uploaded version of one of my addons as the default. It's been hours, and the previous version is still set as the default, and I've poked around in several places, unable to find an option to change the default file.
