297 - Non-Project Repo's For Concept and/or Misc Ideas
What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?
-- Keep in mind that I am talking about "Game Related" work --
Provide a repository for public/open development, without attaching it to a project. One way would be to have an "author specific" repo linked from your profile page. Another way could be to have something like R&D projects - which don't have the release facilities, bug tracker,"recently updated" list tracking, etc enabled for them - the point of either is to try and promote public development, and keep a record of it for other developers to draw from.
Think of this use case: If 2 people who meet in the game want to try to write a mod together, they won't want people to know every time they commit to their repo, but they might want to host their early efforts on a site where other developers are doing the same thing. Maybe they may find that someone else has already tried what they are wanting to do, and they are able to use that code as a starting point.
Yes they can do this just about anywhere - but why not here?
Except when users (or competitors) can see it, public development is never bad.
