291 - Individual forums for addons

Currently many release sites have a single forum thread for specific add ons.  Curse has the comments section which is essentially the same.

I see benefit in allowing project owners to create a small forum for their add ons which are hosted here.  This would provide end users a more detailed way to find information and allow the authors to post detailed updates which are easy to find.

Clarification:

This would be integrated with Curse.com and allow one forum functionality between the both.

Simply put, a single forum thread on Curse or Wowace is difficult to sift through, etc.  A small forum with separate posts would make navigation 1000x easier.

    while I would like to have this functionality. Here is the issue, vbulliten cannot support it. There are only a finite number of forums that it will reasonably support, 1k-1.5k. We have more than 3k active projects with another 3k inactive. It just can't continue like that.

    If issues and feature requests gets posted as tickets the 10000 different things won't be nearly as many.

    Also: Project Actions > Create Page. Name: FAQ. Great way to create a centralized place to answer common questions.

    My negative vote stands. But I've changed from -3 to -2 :)

    The main issue with the individual comments/forums post is that:

    1) They're too long. Who wants to sift through 50 pages to find something that was answered, so a lot of things get asked over and over again.

    2) No organization at all, it's a single post with 10000 different things thrown in.

    I was thinking that forums would be for the "how do you use this" etc... if we offer this solution (maybe on curse.com instead) it allows you to centralize things opposed to having a 25 page thread on wowace full of hard to find stuff.

    -3 The comments are enough for general stuff (like the forum threads on the WoWAce General Addons board). Tickets and comments in tickets for more detailed discussion. Imho.
