CurseForge

227 - Show number of downloads

It would be nice, if you show the number of downloads like on curse.com.

This is something very much lacking in the current offering, any update from curse on if this is going to happen or not?

Quite old request but while using currently curseforge to publish alphas i would really like that too, to see if anyone at all uses the alpha and if so how many.

Download count per file would be very useful to know how much a particular alpha or beta release has been tested...

I support this, and want to add that a download count even for alpha versions, which don't get pushed to curse.com, would be nice since it lets authors know what users are doing somewhat. However, I don't think adding alpha downloads to a "total count" for purposes of determining "popularity" would be a great idea.

One of the ways I look for addons to try out, out of a grouping of like or similar addons, is by download count. The ability to do this should remain in the hands of the users. The site @ curse.com can probably re-phrase things from "Most Popular" to avoid dinging addon author egos however. I realize curseforge is author-centric, but the end result shouldn't necessarily make things harder for a person to pick/choose based on an obvious (and probably popular) way to measure or compare an addon. 2 cents.

With regard to download-count viewing in general, I'd prefer that statistic only be available to project authors, and not used to rank addons as "most popular". Depending on what an addon does, it may need to be updated very frequently with new data, or with each WoW patch, or only once in a blue moon; ranking addons by number of downloads means that "addons that need frequent updates" will always be ranked higher than addons that "just work".
