1991 - Can't load Login page in Safari
Do not submit questions asking for help with specific addons here. Please ask usability questions on the numerous forums out there. For addon specific bugs, please submit a ticket for that specific addon. Tickets which do not follow these rules will be marked as invalid.
What steps will reproduce the problem? Please provide as much detail as possible.
1. Using Safari on Mac OS X (Windows version not tested), make sure it is not currently logged in to the forums.
2. Click on the login link for the forums.
3. Watch the browser get bounced between redirects until the browser times out.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the login page. Instead, I get a Safari-generated error page (see below).
At what time and date (year, month, day) did you get this bug? (Include your timezone)
Tue Nov 17 11:58:55 GMT 2009
Please provide any additional information below.
This is occurring under Safari (4.0.4) on Mac OS. It does not seem to be an issue for Firefox on Mac OS, or if a Safari client has a pre-existing login cookie. The error Safari report is:
Quote:Too many redirects occurred trying to open âhttp://auth.curse.com/NetworkService.asmx/shareSession?from=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.curseforge.com%2Fhome%2Fnetwork-cookie%2F%3Fnext%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.curseforge.com%252Fâ. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.
Basically, when you click the login link, the browser gets redirected a bunch of times until it times out with the above message.

Kaelten Tue, 17 Nov 2009 18:13:48Hi, what you're experiencing is a bug in Safari's cookie handling that seems to only exist on 10.4.
Currently we're unable to find a work-around for this.
