1293 - Options for git changelogs

What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?

* Add an option to choose how automatic log works  such as the amount of changes (max number or since a specific date).
For now it just compiles the last changes since the last tag (at least for git repositories).

Please provide any additional information below.

* A simple option "since last tag only" or "since <specify a date>" would be enough :-)
