1152 - 4.0 Install link for "Battleground" addon fails
Submitted Via
Curse Client 4.0.0.711, Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3
Description
Using IE 8, I tried to install the "Battleground" addon at http://www.wowace.com/addons/battleground/files/111-r57/ using the 4.0 Install link at the top of the page.
I chose to open the .ccip file, and CCv4 (which was already running) took focus and switched to the Downloads panel. However, nothing new showed up in the panel. The addon doesn't ever show up in the installed addons list, and I have confirmed that it is not in my Addons folder for that game instance.
Edit: It also fails to install if I download the .ccip XML file and save it to my desktop and then open it from there. How does CCv4 know which game instance to install the addon to, anyway?
Edit again: I've tried many other combinations, including opening the .ccip file when CCv4 is not running, and I get unpredictable results. If it wasn't previously running, nothing shows up in the downloads panel after it finishes starting up, and the addon doesn't appear to be installed anywhere. However, if I open the .ccip file again with CCv4 still open, there are magically TWO entries in the downloads panel (but only one in the log) and the addon does appear to be installed. It's quite confusing.
I was previously able to install other projects in the alpha status from such "4.0 Install" links (for example, the "ElkFactions" addon at http://www.wowace.com/addons/elkfactions/files/4-r3/ ).

Adamar Tue, 29 Sep 2009 23:14:00This should be working now. Please not that it should appear in the Downloads tab for each instance of WoW you have installed.

Nandini Fri, 25 Sep 2009 14:18:05I think this is happening because by default projects don't get officially "published" until they have at least one beta or release build packaged.
However, I was able to install the "ElkFactions" addon using a ccip link (after several attempts) even though it also appears to have never had more than an alpha build packaged.
