Heads up! We're giving away a Reactor

Just wanted to make sure all of our authors had a chance to signup to win the Reactor by Hardcore Computers we're giving away on curse.com.

I've signed up, but I'm probably not eligible :(

Anywho, signup here if you're interested.

Yep, and if we stir up enough, perhaps someone with some weight on those laws will notice that while friendships, communities, relationships may exceed international boundaries, and every country moans about "we're so international", their laws generally do not. :)

Also, here in Belgium, should I win such a thing, customs would just nick it ;) A friend tried to send me a dvd-writer for my birthday and xmas (he tried 4 times in total), and it never got through, the one time it did - it never arrived here. Or they charge you import fees, which for badly marked packages is far more than the worth of the contents. Once received handmade jewelry from a friend for my birthday, they charged me 50€ just to be able to pick it up, while it was clearly marked gift with values below 30.

Well you really should remove the country drop down box from the contest page then.

Curse doesn't make up the terms, rather the sponsers, in this case Hardcore Computers, provided the terms.

Just tossing this out there, but there are a whole slew of US laws that prohibit the exportation of certain technologies (including giga-flopping processors housed in the Reactor) to other countries. Doubt this would be an issue to places like Belgium or Italy - but I'm not familiar with the specifics.

@Shadow, I am aware of those idiot type of countries with those laws. The one I am currently living in (Italy) has these idiot laws. Then again Italian law is something that resembles Patchwerk in both layout (various bits from several legal systems including the pre WW2 one stitched together) and stench (yes, it stinks). Any contests I have ever seen that was open to EU residents, normally lists Italy as one of the countries not eligible to enter.

I don't know why specfically Curse couldn't make that available outside the US, but I do know there are laws in several countries that require the companies to have a presence in the country for a contest to take place. Which, clearly, Curse doesn't have.

Perhaps you guys should consider that.

narrowmindedness ftw - "we are the world"... NOT!

Of course they do, but we can still sign up to send a signal that there are many non-US curse visitors and that perhaps they should do something like that for non-US as well, where only EU/Asia can win ;)

You might be able to signup, from outside of the US. However, I'm pretty damn sure once it comes to determine a winner, they just ignore all signups, from outside the US. :P
